There are volumes of books written to describe the historical & contemporary effects of sexism, with growing interest in internalized sexism. Everyday there are countless causes to consider, if you have a moment to do so. This blog is meant to cover both sociological insights as well as relationship skills which focus on the male-female dynamics attributed to romantic love. Underlying most divorce cases, one could argue, is a fundamental flaw in each spouse’s expectations of their significant other. One piece of this is aptly described by Dr. Oz, the regular guest on Oprah’s show, when he says men marry a woman and 20 years later wonders where she went, while women marry a man & 20 years hence wonders why he’s still the same man!
Women have a voracious appetite for love & affection which wants to be given in a loving context of virtue, honor, & joy, with regular doses of tenderness. Men need their frequent sojourns to their favorite cave to still their minds. Conscious relationships involve self-aware men & women who can articulate & negotiate what they each want & need. In contemporary, freedom-oriented societies, there is a tendency to give women more say in the terms of engagement under which she will interact with any given man. This new trend promises lots of surprises, as well as trial & error! What men are discovering is a type of dharma yoga experience as they begin to honor women more, exploring chivalry, & eventually surrendering to their goddess’ wishes. But for a man to flow with a woman, he must be very centered & clear on his mission, or else, the feminine chaos will overwhelm him, rather than amuse him.

Then, with the sexual revolution of the 1960s, please note Uranus conjunct Pluto during that decade, women realized they needed to learn economic intelligence for their personal growth while men saw the importance of emotional intelligence. Interestingly, that led to an impetus to go full circle, while spiraling upward. Men now want to reclaim their masculine essence but evolve beyond the Neaderthal or Barbaric tendencies & women long to relax into their radiant feminine energy to give & receive love in more meaningful ways.
We are here at a turning point where female-led relationships are providing men & women with more opportunities for emotional intimacy & enduring happiness. When men are powerful in their domain, they seem to long to surrender to the sacred feminine. I imagine it’s because they feel balance by feminine energies after they’ve slayed a few dragons in their domain. The world becomes a better place when priorities are made for more humane ways of living. For some the path of the feminine is dubious at best. But ask yourself, Would our planet, our children, & our elders be suffering the way they are if women’s concerns were addressed by local authorities? Let’s empower women to expand their vision of life while we invite men to bring their deepest presence to each moment with their goddess.
